4월은 가장 잔인한 달. 키우노라
불모의 대지에서 라일락을. 뒤섞노라
추억과 욕정을.  흔드노라
봄비로 미몽의 뿌리를
겨울의  따스함이여. 뒤덮노라
망각의 눈으로 온 세상을. 살리노라
마른 구근으로 갸날픈 생명을
슈타른버거호를 건너온 여름, 놀래키네
소나기로 : 회랑에서 비를 피하고
햇빛 속을 걸어서 가는 호프가르텐
커피를 마시며 한 시간씩 대화를 나누었네 
나는 러시아 사람이 아니에요. 리투아니아 출생이지만, 나는 순수 독일인이에요.
어려서 대공 댁에 머무르던 시절

Summer surprised us, coming over the Starnbergersee
With a shower of rain; we stopped in the colonnade,
And went on in sunlight, into the Hofgarten,
And drank coffee, and talked for an hour.
