   강이 흘리는 땀 
기름과 타르
거룻배를 출렁이는
들고 나는 조수
붉은 돛을
활짝 펴고
순풍을 향해  선회하는 육중한 활대
거룻배가 씻겨 주는 
부유하는 통나무들
그리니치 리치로 내려가네
개의 섬을 지나

노를 저었네
고물 장식은
화려한 조개
빨강과 금색
커다란 물결이 일어
양안으로 퍼져 갔네
남서풍에
실려 가는
종소리들

      The river sweats
Oil and tar
The barges drift
With the turning tide
Red sails
Wide

Drifting logs
