한때는 그리도 찬란한 빛이었건만
이제는 속절없이 사라진
다시는 돌아올 수 없는
초원의 빛이여, 꽃의 영광이여

우리는 슬퍼하지 않으리
오히려 강한 힘으로 남으리
존재의 영원함을
티없는 가슴으로 믿으리:
삶의 고통을 사색으로 어루만지고
죽음마져 꿰뚫는

Of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower

Strength in what remains behind;

Out of human suffering;
In the faith that looks through death,
In years that bring the philosophic mind.
