페니키아 사람 플레바스, 죽은 지 2주 만에
잊었노라. 갈매기의 울음, 대양의 파도
이익과 손실
                바닷속 해류가
속삭이며 간추린 그의 뼈가 오르내릴 때
그는 성년기와 유년기를  되짚어
소용돌이 속으로 빨려들어갔노라.
                기독교인이든 유태인이든
키를 잡고, 풍향을 살피는 이여
플레바스를 유념하라. 그도 한때는 그대처럼 호남이었나니.
